The Savage 12FLV has finally arrived.

The plan is to load up some 50 and 55 gr bullets with Varget underneath. Gonna work on barrel break in and then get to some specific varmint and target loads. I also plan on getting some other powders to see what works best in this particular rifle.

So who has some good loads for the 22-250 that works for them.

I know I'm old fashion but here goes. Sierra 52 gr. HPBTBR with 35.5 grs. of IMR 4064 and a match primer. I've killed more groundhogs with this load than any other. I really like 4064 for this cartridge.

In this world of new powders and bullets I've not kept up. The old stuff worked for me and I'm too busy to search out new stuff. About all the tuned 22-250's I've used would keep this load around an inch at 200 yrds. Guess that's nothing to brag about these days but it will kill groundhogs to 300 yrds everytime if you do your part.

Nothing wrong with a little experimentation but, I think you'll be very pleased with the results of the Varget loads.
Hodgdon H380 is another excellent powder for the 22-250.
Take Care

Hence the hame H380. I remember reading an article on the development of the 22-250 and 38.0 grains of Hogdgen powder.
