I have a 1911 Colt 38 super and my father gave me a 22 ace conversion kit. It had everything but the recoil spring so i tought with any luck maybe the one for the 38 would do, it doesn't i want to know where can i get it or order one. Thanks.
uhm... I'm not really certain what you're asking, but what I got was that your gun doesn't have any recoil springs. There's a company called Wolff that makes gunsprings out the freakin' wazoo, they might have the hookup: http://www.gunsprings.com/
If you can't find the springs, and you still want a dos-y-dos conversion kit, I politely recommend the Ciener kit, because it's the business, and for it can be had 15-round magazines! http://www.22lrconversions.com/

You are correct that the Ace kit comes with its own recoil spring -- Wolff may have them labeled for the Ace. If not, get the lightest spring they offer.
