I have a Buckmark URX and have a 4" and 5.5" barrel laying here. Both are slabside barrels. Only difference is 1.5 inches.

Any advantage or disadvantage to using one or the other other than a hair longer sight plane?

Would it be better to have the 4" or 5.5" barrel on it? Or does it matter?

Depending on your age & eyesight, you may be able to focus on the front sight clearer with one or the other.

When I was 25, I shot a 7 1/2" Model 41 in Army AMU better then a 5".

Now that I am nearly 70, a shorter barrel has a clearer front sight for me.

As for which barrel?
They are pretty easy to change.

Use the short one for CCW carry in Speedo's, and the longer one for target shooting! :D

Seriously, use whichever one you can shoot best with!

Kinda agree with rc here. If you can feasibly see better with a longer sight plane, your accuracy will be better. Also more powder and pressure are used in the longer barrel. This translates to more power and range as well. The shorter barrel will be much more comfortable in the speedo. :)
