Is anyone here shooting a 22 Creedmoor? Is so, are you using it for varmint hunting, competition shooting, or both and what twist rate is your barrel?

I'm looking for a 22 cal with a bit more power and range than my .224 Valkyries. I'm not really interested in a 220 Swift. The .22-250 would require a custom barrel with a fast twist rate and probably the Ackley Improved treatment to equal what it looks like the 22 Creedmoor can do as currently configured.

Since brass and dies are available now from Hornady and others I'm wondering if it is just a matter of time before the 22 CM is sent for SAAMI approval.

I built one several years ago, very fun gun to shoot and very accurate. I'm running a 1-8 twist X-Caliber barrel's on mine. Barrel life is pretty short on the 22 CM, generally 800 - 1200 rounds before the throat is toast, depending on how much you push it. I order two barrel's at a time, so I always have a spare when needed.
The main bullet that I shoot is the Hornady 75gr ELD-M, but I also shoot the 80gr & 88gr ELD-M bullet's. If you want to shoot the 90gr or bigger bullet's, I'd go with a 1-7 twist rate barrel.
I mainly use my rifle for coyote / hog hunting, and longer range fun gun so my barrel is only 20" long since I shoot suppressed. I still get right at 3500 fps shooting the 75gr bullets

There are many better choices for brass than Hornady. Peterson and Alpha produce it, or you can just neck down 6mm CM brass. I use a set of Whidden dies for my reloading duties.
