Help needed. Got a friends Winchester Model 190 with a discharged casing stuck in the barrel. Found this problem when I went to clean the firearm. The primer end is gone. How can I get this thing out ? Thanks

Get a brand new bronze bore brush and see it it will snag onto the case mouth.

Run it in the case half way, and then reverse directions so the bristles will bend over and snag the case mouth.

Try a .22 brush first, and if that don't work try a 6mm brush.

Soak it with Kroil if you can, then run a super tight patch on a jag in from the muzzle. It'll probably catch on the case mouth, but if the case head is already gone, the case might be stuck pretty bad. Good luck

like others say try a cleaning rod to push the case out. I have a remington model 5 in .22 that would have stuck cases all the time. I learned after several times that what happened is while the brand new rifle sat on display in the gun shop it had been dry fired ( very damaging to rimfires) so many times that there was actually a small indention on the edge of the chamber. What was happening was when it was fired the brass would expand into that indent and cause the empty case to become stuck.

Remedy for my problem was a small tapered stone for a dremel tool stuck into the end of a piece of clear hose and polish it up real nice. then clean all of the residue out really really really good.

you might want to check this out on your friends gun and maybe give it a try, good luck

Actually is in the very end of the chamber. Got a wood dowel no good. Got a metal dowel a bit smaller then barrel no good. Do they make an extractor sort of like an easy out ?

If the above methods don't work, take a fish hook and bend it out straight (heat helps bending steel). Bend the tip of the hook out to a 90 angle. Insert through the ruptured case and hook the case mouth and pull it out.

That, or even easier, a dental pick might work.

You might also very carefully use a thread tap to cut enough threads in the case to get a grip on it, then knock the whole shebang out with a cleaning rod.

But be very very careful you don't thread the chamber while doing it!!
