The Walmart 22 ammo drought is easing at least at the Walmart I shop at. I was in yesterday and they had a whole pile of CCI of various types. Much of it was high velocity and Magnum and shotshells but they did have 2 boxes of CCI standard velocity 22 that made their way out the door with me. I haven't seen any standard velocity 22 at Walmart in years. I have seen empty spots on the shelf where it claims they had some but no actual ammo. I noticed they recently lowered the price on bird shot by almost $5 per 100 rounds

I've lived in Texas since April of 2014.

In that time I've added six firearms to my collection.

Four of them have been rimfires, three of those have been Ruger's in .22 lr. The other is a Savage B Mag in .17 WSM. BTW if anyone is the Dallas area is looking for one I know a Walmart that has/had one still on the rack for $154 for the pencil barrel.

In the time I've lived here in Texas I've purchased about 15,000 rounds of .22lr ammo from local stores. I always check to see if it's in stock. If it is I buy some. Picked up 1500 rounds this weekend at Academy.

There's one Colt AR and a Mossberg MVP in .223.

I was able to buy 22 ammo at Walmart this month for the first time in 2 years.

I have not seen 22lr in a Walmart in Southeastern Ma or Cape Cod since Sandy Hook. The lgs's have 22 lr but not CCI SV or Mini Mags. Cabela's has had CCI, but the store is 2+ hrs from home.
As a bullseye shooter I can easily go through 5000 rounds / yr without trying. Then there is rifle shooting. If Hillary wins I think there will be another panic. For my needs I don't think that having 15,000 rounds of 22lr (3 cases) is hoarding
As to the OP, the shortages can make purchasing multiple brands to see what a new gun likes can be a pain.

I guess yall missed hearing about how the military is switching all of their heavy machineguns to the 22 caliber 1919.

That walther rep must have brown eyes because he is so full of poo poo that you could see it in his eyes.
