Got several boxes of the 100 grain. Doesn't shoot in anything I've got ( Savage -Tikka ). Anybody got a rifle that really likes this stuff. I may consider adding another to my safe if I had some kinda idea. I realize it's not target ammo but if I could get something that would hold it around a minute I'd be tickled. Haven't really had a good .243 since an old Sako I had back in the 70's.

Don't know until you shoot the ammo, all guns are different. I've had cor lokt shoot ok and I've had guns shoot under 1/2 moa with it.

Unless you have a boat load I don't see buying a rifle just to shoot the ammo, but we can always use another gun lol.

Mauser m18 are a good price at europtics,

It shoots okay in my pre-Accutrigger Savage 110. Not quite MOA though. It's comparable to the basic Winchester Powerpoint/Supr-X. It was good enough to hit a caribou in the vital zone at a bit over 300 yrds. I long ago switched to Barnes TSX, Better accuracy and MUCH better terminal performance.

I agree with Troy; no point in buying a gun just because you have ammo. If you're that displeased with the ammo, sell it. Someone will buy it. Use the money to buy other brands of 243, and keep experimenting until you find what works.

I used a Remington 700 ADL with a modified for myself stock with iron sights to great effect for about 3 years shooting 100 grain Coreloks exclusively and felt I owned a "Death Ray". Lost that rifle flipping a boat, like a dear, old, friend.....

No complaint about Coreloks o accuracy or terminal effects

Yeah, because I throw all of my friends overboard. lol

Looking at your location, and your screen name, I'm guessing you're hunting in GMU 22 or 26. I generally hunt the Nelchina herd in GMU 13. Just out of curiosity, at one range do you usually shoot your caribou?

Im in an even better GM Unit, Im in "23"

Most shots are average 200yards in Winter, and quite often a bit closer in Summer, and in Fall for about 1 week, we hunt them as they swim the wide Kobuk River and brain shoot them with a .22lr, from about 10 feet, perfect brain shooting, so the bullet dont exit and wound a fellow Caribou, and destroy NO meats or fur at all....the cleanest cleanup ever on the shore side and the crisp fall nights freeze the carcasses and the river, making for a short sweet hunt

I've never been able to get Core Lokts in any caliber to shoot very well over the years. I don't even give them a second look.

I had Remington Model Sevens in .308 and .243 that would shoot Core-Lokts right at an inch at 100. Shot them exclusively until I got into reloading.

That is all I shoot and reload in my 30-06. They are hard hitting ammo and have never let me down on deer and elk. They definitely are not submoa bullets but I have hit milk jugs at 500 yards so it is good enough for me. I know that my rifles shoot it best with a 165 grain bullets, with 150 or higher weights it becomes a shotgun. Could be the same with your rifle. Try a different weight.

In factory ammunition I’ve always tried CoreLokt when I get a new rifle. Why? I guess because CoreLokt was what my father bought and so when I started buying ammo I was familiar with it. It is used in two 30-06’s, .270, 30-30. Accuracy is great. It is used in my daughter’s Vanguard S2 .243. My Vanguard S2 .243 hates CoreLokt.

Not gonna BUY any more Corelokt. I just happen to have a quantity on hand and figured since I'm going to rotate some stock any rifle that would shoot it might be okay. Last rifle I had that shot Corelokt was one of those "close the bolt go bang ADLs" in the sixtys. Got rid of it. Fairweather, I looked at those Mausers on line but no one carries them. Ever shoot one or handle it? Anybody here have one?

I'd say shoot it up for practice ammo and save the brass to reload. Seems kind of silly to buy a rifle just because you have a few boxes of ammo for it.

Components and factory ammo can be resold, which is what I would do rather than buying a whole new rifle.

Yes. I have one. Bought through from EuroOptic. $243 including tax and shipping. No complaints. Fit and finish is good. Machine work is very good. Sighted it in with Rem. Corelokt 90 grain. Shot right at 1". The Mauser M18 comes with a MOA 5-round group guarantee.
As we all know, a gun will only shoot as good as the shooter is capable.

:uhoh:
Now you tell me.
Does that include buying a rifle because you have COMPONENTS to make ammo for it? I may be guilty of that.
Hey! Don't knock it!
I bought my Tikka .270 Win. because a guy gave me 460 pieces if once fire brass! It is among the best shooters in my safe and shoots 140 grain Bergers into 2-3/4" at 500 meters.

I bought my grandson a .243 single shot last year. Smith tried 100 grain corelokt first checking the scope and rifle. Turns out the rifle shoots it very well. Good performing stuff, easy to find and not expensive. A very good whitetail round.

Funny how you get so many different experiences- and I guess that is what makes this place so great-
I have a .243 .280 and 30-06 that all shoot at least MOA with Rem Corelokts- and it's cheap ammo for the brass-

You also might try tuning the Bbl, if it's a sporter.

Shim at the end of the forestock until you get 3-5 lbs of pressure. (grip the forestock in the palm of your hand and push the Bbl. up w/ your index finger.)

Bicycle playing cards work good.

I own one and my hunting load I just picked is under 1/4 moa. Very well made gun. Euroopics has them the cheapest.

If you reload, I'd recommend doing some Mexican match with the ammo. Don't mix boxes/lots. One box at a time, pull bullets and weigh the powder charges back less a couple tenths to have them all consistent, reseat and mild crimp. You may be quite happy with the results.
