7x57

As long as the 7x57 lives forming brass isnt too hard :D

Yeah but it's headstamped wrong! But seriously, necking 7 or even 8mm Mauser down isn't that big a deal. Converting 270 or 30-06, I've not tried it. When I googled doing it, they start talking about turning necks and stuff, and I just am not set up to do that... Pity too, my 257 brass supply is pretty eclectic. I weighed cases one time and they were all over the map.

An easy way to make 7x57 brass from 257 Roberts is to accidentally seat a 7mm bullet (speer BTSP) in a 257 Roberts case. :what: You'll be the neck-tension envy of the world! I somehow ended up with a 145 gr BTSP in a box of 0.257" diameter 120 gr BTSP. It was a little harder to seat, but it seated. When I pull it out of the press, something didn't look right. I've got a pic somewhere here. :D I kept the loaded case for my "oops" display. So far it's the only one that I've made. It also has a couple of 9mm cases that were fired in a 40 S&W and a neckless 300 win mag case that looks like it was fired in a 300 Weatherby from the shape of the shoulders. Those were range pickups.

I like both cartridges equally well and would want a bolt action rifle in both so I’m of no use in the advice department.
