I never thought I would say it but, the big box stores (in my area anyway)are the only ones not gouging the prices, this is of course if they can get the product. All the LGS's, save one I visit on a weekly basis have jacked the price on every type of gun in stock. I even bought 55gr vmax factory loads and a 100rnd box 55gr vmax for reloading, h335 and small rifle primers today. His prices are always 1-2 dollars more but, he has it in stock.

You do realize these are auction prices? It's the buyers that are setting the prices, not the stores. Also these guns have several hundred dollars worth of accessories on them, so the prices aren't that inflated beyond other places.

whats intresting about this to me is that people loose their minds when an election or event happens and the "gun control" comes to the front page. this run or ar type rifles has already slowed down in my area. a customer wanting to buy a bare lower said he seen thim on the web for 500+ this week. this too shall pass..........

Buds has done the smart thing and put their guns up for auction. They start their auctions at $1.00 and let the buyers set the price. Not technically price gouging, since they aren't setting the price.

However, I seriously doubt you will find a single AR, AK, or military style semi auto show up in their normal long gun listings. You can pretty much bet that every one they receive is going up on the auction site and will end up selling for 200% - 400% of it's MSRP.

I hate the thought of shipping a rifle but I'm sorely tempted to put my post-ban Colt MT6700 up on Gunbroker just to see what it would bring.

If things go our way I could buy a replacement at 1/2 the price in a few months.

And this is exactly the right thing to do. It is how you maximize your profit without pissing off customers & creating massive backorder lists. You put up a message "Due to market changes we cannot accurately price some of our inventory. We are currently allowing customers to set their fair price on gunbroker. When the market re-stabilizes we will resume direct sales."

Those "optic ready" Carbon 15 BMs came with the red dot installed for $7-800 MAX, 6 months ago. I have been offered $1500 for mine last week. LGS said they would buy it for $900 and I said NO, it is bullet buttoned and my family trainer. It is the first one that gets passed out if we are shafted.

At the local Gun Show today I saw the same rifle I paid $600 for less than a year ago going for $1800. Nobody was buying them. .223/5.56 going $1.00 a round for the cheap stuff.
