3.75 Bisley Super Blackhawk; recoil a bad idea?

On my wishlist this year, a Super Blackhawk bisley model is catching my eye. Really feels like that's the gun, as .44 Mag is my favorite handgun cartridge and only feels right to have another gun chambered for it.
I'd prefer anything from 4-6 inches barrel length but all the current listings I see are either of the 7.5 inch, or the 3.75 inch. From my experience, it's better to get the barrel length you know you want. Since I lean more towards preferring the shorter size, the 3.75 seems to be the deal. Question is, is that too short for 44 magnum to be comfortable? Also I've heard bisley grips don't flow with recoil very well (odd because I originally thought the opposite). Would the recoil from a 3.75 inch barrel be too heavy to bear accurately? I line up the sights on a shorter gun easier, but if the recoil makes it too difficult to manage then that cancels the whole idea out.
Remember I shoot a lot of handguns one handed, even the S&W 500 so my recoil tolerance is higher than most. I don't consider .44 Magnum to be too heavy a kicker (it's my favorite cartridge).

I've had two of the exact same gun, in fact I dare say I had the first one in the tri county area, I liked it alot and carried it with some
44 split loads, I would frequently shoot the 240 from Winchester jsp load and the rem 180 grain jsp load, those were quite manageable with the bisley.

That is an awesome little revolver! I shot a friend’s rather extensively and it was really accurate and recoil’s not so bad.

I bought a 4.62" barrel SBH with the plowhandle grip. It's now a Bisley. The Bisley handles recoil much, much better. Better even than a 5.5" Redhawk with a big rubber grip.

I seriously doubt the 3.75" barrel and Bisley grip frame will cause you any problems. Other than maybe not getting quite the velocities you'd want.

While I really enjoy the plowhandle grip, full-house .44 Magnums are a bit too much for it, in my hands. The plowhandle rolls in the hand, which is nice for lesser cartridges but uncomfortable for larger ones, at least for me. For .44 Magnums and above I depend on the Bisley. I suppose it does direct more of the recoil impulse straight back, but then, I think that is exactly what makes the Bisley more controllable.

A good chunk of my .44mag shooting has been with the plowhandle version of that gun. I’ve seriously considered trying to find a Bisley version because controlling recoil with the plowhandle is a challenge. I’ve shot a lot more .454 Cas than .44 mag so it isn’t the recoil per se.

FYI Ruger has model number 0814 which is a 4.6” barrel SBH .44msg with plowhandle. 0817 is the 3.75 plowhandle I’ve used. 0818 is the Bisley you are looking at. I’ve seen the 4.6” for sale online recently so they are out there if you’d prefer the 4.6 to the 3.75.
