A while back I had a thread on this site why there were 8, 5, and 2 round clips. But no three round clip for a ceremonial rifle volley using a M1 Garand. We went back and forth with different ideas and why one was need in the first place. Well I finally came up with a solution. I just cut a slit on one side of the clip and bent in the edge just behind the third round. Works great. Thanks for all your tips and suggestions. I know we could just load three into a 8 rnd clip but now I can have seven pre-loaded clips and hand them to my rifle team to load just before the volleys. Looks more squared away instead of fooling around with three rnds each to each member. Then they have to load the three. Now I hand a rifle team member a three rnd clip and we do a ready / load, all at once. Real clean. Had to honor a co-worker and Marine that passed away last week and we used the modified clips. Worked and looked great.
