I voted for 4895.

IMR-4895, to be specific.

But I also feed several M1 Garands, so I tend to stay away from the slower IMR-4064.

:pHodgdon H4831SC it is like varget and high or real low temps don't change fps. i had good luck soo far with it useing 180g

IMR4064 gives me one hole groups out of my 1903A4 with Hornady 168 grain match bullets. Varget has a following in matches too. Didn't exist when I worked up my load though.
IMR4064 is fine for an M1 rifle. It gives more consistent accuracy than IMR4895 with all suitable bullets. That'd be 150's to 175's. The rifle was not designed to use .30 M2 152 grain bullet ammo.

Well, I picked up a lb of Varget and will give it a try. Unfortunately it's way to cold to shoot right now and I might have to wait a while before I test the ammo. I would have also picked up some 4064 but Cabela's was out of it.

Out of my Winchester Model 70 in 30-06:

I couldn't get any combination of bullet or powder to group well with H4350.

Switched to Varget and it seems like any combination shoots great.

This has been my experience with Varget and 223 and 220 Swift as well.

I now load BL(C)2 for 223 because Varget filled the case so full and my progressive would sometimes spill out a few grains.

I have experimented with H-380 in the Swift as well but Varget is an excellent option.
