It would appear the maker of both your powders says "nay nay".

None of my loadbooks(off my head) specify this bullet, in this cartridge, with either of those powders.

I will look again for you.

My speer book lists a 100 gr bullet, starting at 36.0 grs H380, ending at 40.0 grs H380, with a magnum primer.

As a reference only.... The same manual starts 110g data exactly 1 grain lower than 100g bullets, in all powders listed. Many of them ( RL7, H322,AA2015, etc) are the same from table to table. It does not list H380 in the 110g section.

My Hornady manual lists neither.

Hey blarby thanks I'll start low w/ the 380 I just don't want to blow any thing up .I've loaded a lot but not with these components

H380 and H414 -- I just don't want to blow any thing up
I doubt very seriously you can get enough of either one in a 30-30 case to be dangerous.

You got the wrong two slow burning powders for light bullets in a 30-30.

No matter how you slice it.

H414 is recommended for 22-250 through 375s. I have several pounds stored as a go to. Used to use Varget for my reserve but traded it for some pistol powder last year.

H414 IMO is too slow a powder to be a reserve powder. Now IMR4895 or H4895 would be a different story....

I agree H414/W760 and H380 are not good choices for very light bullets in the 30-30 and also like said above, it would be very difficult to get enough of either powder in the case to blow anything up.

If you can find any powder locally you might want to go with the 30-30 standby powder, IMR3031. IMR4895 or H4895 would also be good choices for those light bullets. The other Winchester powder, W748 will also work well.

From Hornady 7th:
110 gr bullet
IMR 4064 33.0 - 36.4
BL-C2 32.7 - 36.1

No mention of your powders. I rather think they are a bit slow for 30-30.

I use IMR 3031 and H4198 for 30-30 and powders in this speed range seem to be about right for 30-30, however I don't have any specific loads for 110 gr bullets.

150 gr bullet
3031 26.6 - 31.4 ( I would not be afraid to use this load with the 110 gr bullet.

I have a plinking load for 30-30. I shoot a Lee 309-113-f bullet with 12 grains of Trail Boss. The bullet is gas checked, and a flat nose. Little noise, little recoil, and accurate.
