I have owned tubular leverguns in 30-30 , 338 ,
35 Rem ,356win,38-55 , 375 Win , 444 , 450 M & 45-70
The 35 Rem when handloaded is a different beast
they are some great jacketed bullets .. Speer 180gr , & Speer 200gr .. the 180gr is one tuff bullet .. I used it in a 356 Win & 358 Win ( boltgun)
I haven’t been able to hunt in the past few years due to excess work and now health problems...
I sold all but 3 of my 38 leverguns... all three 336 in 30-30 ... One Spikehorn , One Texan and one beater ...
The 30-30 has always worked for me ... but if you handload ...the 35 Rem is the pick if you are looking at Elk of larger Black Bears
