It's been a while since I have made any updates to my 300 Blackout Journey, it was great to get out on the range today with some factory ammunition from Summit Ammunition. I received an email from a reader asking had I ever heard of this company and if I would try a box or two in my chronograph testing. I thought for sure I would end up needing to call them to see if I could get my hands on a few boxes. But to my surprise a visit to one of the local shops, turns up two boxes all they had in stock of this brand.

I really do not know much about Summit Ammunition, though I managed to find a few YouTube video's of others testing this brand. All of the reviews I have come across thus far have given great reviews of their products.

In my Franken AR these rounds would prove to be safe and reliable. There were no failure to feed through one box and the bolt locked bag on the final rounds of the magazine, loaded 5 rounds at a time.

These rounds are loaded with 147gr bullets on top of what looks to me to be H110 powder inside of LC cases except for one case branded PMC. Unsure of what the exact powder is I will not list the weight/grains of the powder. All rounds would fire safely and seemed to showed no signs of over pressure.

Over the chronograph I would fire two groups for accuracy testing, 5 shot group and a 3 shot group from the 50 yard line. Summit advertises that these rounds travel at 2025FPS. Today my chronograph showed these rounds would travel on average across the two groups 2054FPS and 2047FPS.
