Greetings.

After months of putting it off, I now have a decent reloading setup. I got two sets of dies, .303 British and .300 Savage.

I have read up on reloading the .303, but there is not much info on the web (at least were I have looked) on the pitfalls of the .300 Savage. So, Here are my questions:

(Oh Yhea, The rifle the .300 will be used in is an older Model 99 Savage, and I plan on using 150 grain pills at first.)

In your experience, what is a good powder to start with, or what do you get the best results with? According to my load data (the Lee manual) there are 28 powders to choose from in the 150 grain weight range.

What is average case life for this cartridge/gun combo? I know the 99 is a rear locking design, and that can be hard on brass... Will anealing help?

Any other tips or info I need before starting?

Thanks
