Ok guys I need some info on the 300 savage what powders do you like in it for instance what bullets?/ weight me I am thinking 150 grains

ALL, and I do mean ALL, of the medium burning rifle propellents have shot exceedingly well in my SAV99 rifle. There are ten propellents in the SPEER 14 Loading Manual and the top six ALL exceeded 2500fps with 150gr projectiles.

Such as what I have several powders on hand not any load manuals (I have 5 just not in front of me)

Speer #12 lists AA 2460,IMR 4064,H 380.IMR 4895& W 748 among others for 150 grain bullets. This is the latest manual I have with the 300 Savage. These loads were for a model 99E.

For a DRT deer use a 180 GRAIN COR-LOKT and IMR 4320. My load is 40.5 grains. Just a touch below MAX. IMR 3031 also works really well. I like the 180 grain bullet rather than the 150 grain for general hunting.

If you check with Winchester, I think you can get a manual that lists the load they use with their factory loads, powder and bullets. I used a charge of 748 (don't recall exactly what) with a 150 grain Winchester bulk SP to duplicate factory loads for my Dad. He used Winchester factory loads for years, so getting a load that shot directly to the same zero was perfect for his needs.

I've been loading 150 gr. bullets with IMR-4064 with really impressive results. It's an old Savage my brother in law passed down to me, and it has been fed nothing but reloads since he bought it new, so it knows what it like's.

The load I have been running since dirt has been in existence is 39.6 grs. of IMR-4064 and a 150 gr. bullet. This combination has been drilling 1" groups on it's moody days, and even better when I'm shooting straight.
