I shot this eater-size pig at 130yds. He walked across the clearing when I was not ready, but then came back grazing and gave me another opportunity. I'm thinking I need to stand at the ready more even though it can be less comfortable waiting 4-6hrs at a time. If I'd been ready the whole time I would have got a coyote or two as well.
It was a side shot as he was starting to turn away from me to his right. I never found the bullet but it did a lot of damage was done to the left lung from shock and bone fragments and whatever remained of the bullet. I'd have thought the bonded bullet would have penetrated more but since the ribs are flat it did go through quite a bit of bone and he did drop on the spot so it's hard to complain.
