A friend of mine bought an AR LR308. We took it to the range today and shot a bunch of rounds through it.
I came home and was noticing that there seems to be a lot of dpms upper and lowers for sale. Is there a problem lurking in the future for this rifle or is there just an abundance of 308 parts out there?

No problems that I know of. Used to sell a TON of them and had far fewer problems with them than the 5.56 versions.

The only standing complaint I know of with them is that most are .308 only and not 7.62. However I think the AP4 will handle 7.62, and maybe a few others buy now.

.308WIN/7.62NATO are the oposite of .223rem/5.56NATO. A rifle chambered in .308 can handle all .308 and 7.62 loads where as a surplus kit rifle with 7.62 chambers should avoid hotter/heavier .308 loads.

I think 1) DPMS is catching up with production and 2) people are finially selling rifles/parts they don't have money far.

True but DPMS has always said not to use 7.62 in their rifles with a couple exceptions. I have been waiting on my local shop to get in some .308 AP4s for just this reason even though they have some other models in stock. That or I will just wait for RRA to start making theirs again.
