I have inherited a Smith and Wesson 32 with a serial number of 361 and was wanting to get some info on it...it has rubber grips and 32 winchester ctg stamped on the side of the barrel....any info would be appreciated..thanks
 
here are a few pictures the number under the swing out is 1497...picture didnt come out too clear....serial number 361...4 in barrel and no rear sight...just a cut out..thanks for any info

If it is old enough It may not be rated for smokeless powder. I have one that was made in the 1890's that is not.

Here WeGo.

It appears to be a 1st. Model .32 Hand Ejector made in 1899.

The low serial number and apparently pretty good condition would be of interest to S&W collectors.

Shooting it with todays 32-20 WCF loads is possible, and probably very likely safe, as they are loaded to very low pressure.

However it does not have more modern S&W drop safety so it should not be carried with a round under the hammer.

any idea to what it's worth.....not for sale because it was my grand father's but would like to know
 
My SC of S&W says:
Good = $300.
Fair = $225.

But value is subjective, and the better the condition, the higher the value.

Yours in "As New, In Box" would be worth $3,000 - $4,000.
But it isn't even close to that condition.
