32 SWL

I know lots of you guys load .32 SWL. Is there a load that any of you would consider a “decent” self defense load from a 2” barrel? I don’t carry mine, but I’d like to have the best option possible if it was ever needed. I’m not really asking for specific load data, but rather whether or not the little round can be effective.

Wadcutter loads at a good velocity would be your best bet with that particular cartridge/barrel length in my opinion.

Better than a poke in the eye if that's what you had to go with.

That’s what I have loaded in it right now. Probably as good as anything. I have found a load for 90 gr semi-wadcutters at over 1000 FPS and one for 98 gr at 980 FPS. I might get around to trying those some time too.
