Any thoughts on how well or not this round will perform from a 2 inch tube? Looks pretty good from the 3" results but I haven't been able to extrapolate that into what it would do with an inch less of barrel.

It would be ear splitting, that's for sure. Ever shoot a 32/20 without ear plugs? Other than that, sure, a regular .32 Long or .32 Mag is good enough for some folks, why not a .327.

Doesn't help right now, but we'll be testing the .327 Federal Magnum (as well as the .41 Mag and 10mm) a little later this spring and then posting the results, for barrels 18" down to 2".

Cheers!

I'm sure the .327 Magnum will work well in a 2" barrel. Like any Magnum round it will perform better from a longer barrel but within reason I'm sure it will be satisfactory in a 2" barrel as well. It's obvious the reason Ruger is using a 3" barrel revolver for it's .327 Magnum so they can closely match the velocity and energy of the .357 Magnum. The numbers from a 2" barrel wouldn't allow them to make the same claims.
