I am trying to find out the year my S&W Springfield 32s Double Action Revolver was manufactured. It has a 2-3 inch barrel. 5 shot revolver. Serial number on butt and revolver read ss# 294861. If any one can help me I would sure appreciate it.

We need better pictures of the entire gun and the stampings on the gun including any copy right dates on the top of the barrel. I don’t find any reference to a “S&W Springfield” but that serial number for a S&W 32 double action would place it in the 1909 to 1919 range.

Howdy

The Smith and Wesson company has been located in Springfield Massachusetts since 1857. Most, if not all, of their revolvers reference that somewhere in their markings.

You really need to supply some better photos, particularly showing the entire gun, to properly identify it. Also, be sure of the length of the barrel. Revolver barrels are measured from the front of the cylinder to the muzzle (front of the barrel)
