.35 rem lever marlin trouble

Hi, I have a lever action Marlin in .35 Rem. After the first shell is loaded, the second will load onto the carrier but it will lock up. The third round will stick out of the tube magazine just enough to keep the carrier from rising up to load, thus lock up. Once i sneek a small punch into the feedarea a push it back into the mag, it will then load. Can this be adjusted or a new part replaced? Thanks.

What ammo are you using? In lever actions, cartridge overall length (COAL) is critical.
