Howdy, hunting for some 357 load data...

Received around 1000 lead wadcutters (for free!) and am wanting to play around a bit. Already loaded some up with titegroup and it was very mild shooting.

Would like to try some power pistol, which I loaded with some 158gr Lswc and those are nice and warm, clean burning and a very large flame.

Anyone ever tried power pistol with a full wadcutter? A jumping off point would be awesome. Thanks!

Close as I can get you with actual tested data is in .38 Special.

5.5 grains Power Pistol 148 Hornady BBWC seated 1.292” CCI 500 SPP
913 920 907 909 912

Lots of fun in a 3" J frame and accurate. Good luck.

What kind of LWC are they? if they are HBWC you'll want to keep them at 38spl pressures. If they are plain base swaged you can load them up until the leading begins. If they are cast DEWC you can load them hotter depending on the BHN of the bullets.

They are double ended wadcutters.

I have some 2400 but I don't use it for wadcutters.

They are double ended wadcutters.
I like zxcvbob's recommendation of a middle burn rate pistol powder.
I have good results in .357 mag. with cast 148gr DEWC BHN 12 with 4.5gr of Bullseye and small pistol primers.
