A year ago I moved to SW Idaho.
Love it!
I had been wanting a DA 357 (I have owned a Blackhawk for years… along with a Marlin 1894).

Moving is expensive.

What I got I think is perfect for the fishing hole purpose I had in mind; I’d still like to get a 4-5” Smith for example too…one step at a time.
But here’s my new rig. I’ll get some hard cast heavy bullets for it soon (I don’t plan on shooting those until I need to, at that point recoil won’t matter).

Used Ruger SP101
New GunfighterInc chest holster

I’ll put the link to my original discussion below.

Nice choice! I’ve carried mine loaded with Buffalo Bore 180g hardcast for many a mile in bear county. I recently got a 3” King Cobra (20 percent higher capacity and same weight) but the Ruger isn’t going anywhere!

Nice set up and rig. I have the same Kenai chest rig for my SRH .454. I haven't given it a good wringing out but will be curious how it holds up over time. I can tell you that's a very comfortable way to pack a six gun out in the woods. Mine is a little too tight on retention at the moment and will need to be tweaked a little. As it is now, I could do multiple hand springs across a football field and that thing is not going to let go.

I don’t own a SRH yet, but if I ever wanted to shoot a 454 again, that would be the one!

A friend has a SW 460 X Frame. I’m a little intimidated.

You have a great rig set up. I carry a 686 and have several revolvers I shoot with. When I began to carry my 686 I also bought the S&W 617. This has been a great tool to practice shooting double action, I'll shoot a couple hundred rounds of 22's all in double action until my hand gets tired. The 617 has a heavy trigger pull and I don't consider it as con as this builds up my muscles on my trigger hand and when I finish resting I switch to my 686 and shoot 2 or 3 cylinders and the action on this feels like butter after shooting 200 rounds with the 617.

I have greatly improved my accuracy with my .357 just shooting it in double action.

I'm now here only for the handsprings (although that is a very nice piece of gear)

I'll be here for another week or so if you should decide to indulge us.

Seriously though, nice rig
