357 handi rifle optic options

Hey there high roaders. Looking for some input from you guys. I picked up a .357 handi rifle before the xmas craze, and now that I'm done with my holiday shopping I'm looking into an optic for it. I'm thinking 100yrds or so is going to be the max distance on this one (I dont know, I might ream it out to 357 maxx, well see). But for now 100 yrds tops. I'm thinking either a 4x or a 6x fixed power scope. Trying to stay somewhat economical, lets say keep it under 200 bucks. What would you put on this ol' gal? Would you bother with the fixed power or go adjustable?

Don't know how long the special will last.

Keep in mind, you said you might go to 357max.

I've a VX-1 on my 77/357 and it is nice.

I played around with a couple of scopes on mine and settled on an inexpensive but functional red dot sight. If I felt I had to magnify, I wouldn't go stronger than 4x on a pistol caliber carbine.

I have a Leupold Rifleman on mine,,,

I have a Leupold Rifleman 3x9 on my .357 Handi-Rifle,,,
I pop armadillos with mine when they migrate.



The scope/rifle combination wasn't a deliberate choice,,,
It was a match made by convenience.

I had the rifle and chanced upon a great deal for the scope,,,
But even though it was accidental the match seems to work very well.
