Have a chance to get a screaming deal on one or more Thompson Contenders. Several are in .357 Herrett (one 10" and one 14" barrel) and one is the 35 Remmie. The 35 Remington is about $40 more.

Anyone have experience with these???

As a side note....for those who think there are no "deals".....I can trade a Ruger 10/22 even up for the Herrett

:D

Get the .35 Remington in the 14" or 16" (16" has the advantage of legally taking shoulder stock). Factory ammo with good loads at resonable price , little more power than the other labor intensive cartridge. IF they made factory Herret rounds for $12 a box I'd consider it, BUT they don't. :)

I had a .357 Herrett. I soon swore completely off of wildcats and swapped the barrel for a .30-30. Get the Remington unless you just like tinkering with brass.
