Guys,

Do any of you have a Razor HD (35mm tube) mounted on a Ruger RPR? If so what rings are you using?

Just got a good deal on a GEN 1 Vortex Razor HD 5-20x50 MILRAD and MILRAD adjustments with EBR-2B reticle for $1480 delivered. Now I need to scare up some 35mm rings that are high enough (approx 1.45") for the 50mm objective AND flip caps.

Ideas/suggestions?

Thanks,

Chuck

For those that might be interested, Midway has one more in stock marked for clearance: https://www.midwayusa.com/product/5...luminated-ebr-2b-reticle-stealth-shadow-black

Badger has some that get you 1.375" I believe. Talley also has a set of 35mm in extra high.

Thanks!

The Talley's don't list a center height, but they do list a bottom of ring height of .85", so I think they may be too short for a flat top.

I also seen pictures with the extra high Vortex/Seekins 35mm mounts, that barely, and I mean barely had room for the objective with flip cap mounts.

I went with a set from ARC, M10s:

They're 1.42" high.

For anybody else looking for 35mm on a RPR:

Badger Ordinance at 1.375"

Larue also offers some one piece mounts for 35mm with 1.5" height.

Millett has 35mm rings available in several heights. My Millett scope has a 56mm objective and I think it's the 1 inch height I'm using to clear the handguard on my M1A.

I own that same Vortex Razor mounted on a Sako TRG. I used the Vortex "Precision Matched Rings" PMR-35-95. They have the "Vortex Logo" 35mm Medium height .95 but they are made by Seekins Precision. See 2nd pic, Same exact rings, different logo. I paid $139.

IMHO, these are the perfect height for my SAKO, with just enough barrel clearance for lens cover thickness.

NOTE: The pics below are not the actual "medium .95" height...but you get the idea.

The issue with the RPR is the clearance due to the forearm rail, here's an image of a RPR with a Vortex Razor HD and Seekins.Vortex 1.26" mounts (which is the tallest 35mm mounts Vortex/Seekins offer):

There's not a lot of wiggle room, and not enough room for flip caps. Here's another shot with 1.5" rings:

I'm thinking the 1.43" ARC M10s, should be about the minimum I can go using the flip caps. I'll post up a picture once everything arrives on Monday for anybody else in the same boat.

Highcaliber, how do you like the Razor HD??????

That's an easy one...I love it!

I had a feeling you'd say that, I did a boatload of research prior to pulling out my wallet. It's gotten very good reviews, a little on the heavy side, a little big, but well built with great glass.

What caliber is your Sako?? My RPR is a .243, I'm loading Berger 105 hybrids.

Yep, no complaints here. The scope tracks well, glass is clear and I like the EBR-2b reticle better than the EBR-3. Reticles and optics tend to be subjective.

My SAKO TRG is chambered in .308

It sounds like you've already made the purchase, but I forgot to mention the 35mm options available from Bobro Engineering.

This model has 1.5" height with 20 moa cant built in, but they make one with zero cant.

Guys, just a follow up. Rings and mounts came in on Monday, mounted them and zero'd. For future reference he's a couple pics of the ARC M10 1.45 rings with teh RPR and Vortex Razor HD. It turns out to be a good combination. Pics aren't the best quality, sun is bad as I was on my back deck shooting my 400 yard Turkey swinger, but you'll get an idea of how the scope sits on the RPR:

Clearance is about a minimum:

Overall package:

Turkey swinger across my pond (403 yds from back deck, normally shot at 385 meters). Really was just screwing around while fire-forming some brass:

The ARC M10 mounts are unique in that they use hinged halves, with one screw clamping the scope in place.
