this is the info from there box

.358 Diameter
148 grain DEWC
Brinell 10
Optimized for PPC Velocity

I did E-Mail Missouri Bullet co. last week and got no responce from them.

I do not fully under stand what PPC velocity is and and only info I can find on Brinell in my books has to do with casting your own so i am a little lost so if there is a chart for what brinell strangth for what loads would be good to

Sorry I missed your email. Things do get lost in the shuffle around here once in a while.

PPC velocity is very, very low.

I wrote up a 'Technical' page for the website when I started this business and in it, I try to explain the fundamentals of pressure versus BHN requirements. Did you take a look at it?

That said, I would recommend using the bullets at low velocity for target work and have us make you up that same bullet in a magnum-level hardness level. Happy to do it, just include a note with your order in the 'Comments' section.

Hope this helps.

What Brad said. If you try to load those soft bullets at .357 Magnum velocities you'll spend the next week removing lead from your forcing cone and barrel. That's not what they're intended for.

Just for information, PPC loads are generally in the 700 to 800 fps range, and some load even lower. The powders used are usually Bullseye, Winchester 231 or a similar fast pistol powder, in small amounts.

Hope this helps.

I have loaded swaged beveled base wad cutters in .357 mag cases with standard primers charged with 4.2gr of Bullseye with very little leading. What powder are you using for the .38spl with these DEWCs ?

I use 2.7 grains of green dot when I do my 38spl loads. bassed on what is being said and the extra reading over the last few day I will pick up some lead bullet made for .357

Deadeye, just use 357 starting loads for the WCs (provided you're not using magnum capable powders). Bullseye, Unique, 231, the Dots - just don't push them too fast. It's a pile of fun to shoot those mild loads - like popping 22s at shotgun shells on the ground. You know - plinking!
Enjoy!
:D
(and when you're an old dude, watching your grandkids, you'll wonder why you didn't have more kids... ;) )
