I've been loading some .356 truncated cone bullets with 5.5 of power pistol for my buddies ruger convertible and it's amazing how much better they shoot than the .355 9mm bullets.

I tried some in my latest cz and they seemed to make a good bit of difference in it.

Does anyone else use jacketed 356 diameter bullets in a 9mm?

In a .357/9MM convertable with a .357 barrel? Hmmm..... ;)

But to answer your question, I have shot .356 Zero's in 9MM with good results. :)

38 Caliber bullets come in both .358" and .357" and both shoot out of a .38 Special revolver so there is no reason .355" and .356" bullets won't shoot out of a 9mm. If you can shoot .356" Lead in a 9mm the FMJ bullets should work too. (even though lead is more forgiving) I'm sure they are very accurate since they are making solid contact with the rifling in the barrel.

I won a box of Berry's .356" Super bullets at a match drawing. I shot them in 9mm P with no trouble except that I had a few more rounds than usual fail the cartridge gauge. A thousandth larger bullet showed up more when matched up with a thick case neck. Even the gauge failures will still chamber and I have shot them in practice with no malfunctions.

A lot of 9mms have larger than nominal .355" groove diameters. If you have one, you might get better accuracy with a better fitting bullet... or you might not. One guy had a .358" Beretta that showed no difference from bullets .355" to .358".
