Im kicking around a variety of shelves and holders and hooks, etc for use in my hub style blinds. Here is proto 1. Time to fire up the 3D printer.

I revised my design and changed it to a one piece shelf. Here is the 3D printed shelf after painting. I used blue PLA but wanted it black so I painted it.

Then I picked up some hooks and added shrink tube.

To quiet the shelf I used an old mouse pad and double sided tape.

Perfect fit.

Plenty of room on the shelf and to hang things.

Excellent job, sure beats wearing the gear around your neck. Now you have me thinking about something very similar.

Thats why I do these posts, so people can DIY and get creative and customize to their needs.

I know almost nothing about 3D printing. I have seen shelves, hooks for sale by blind makers and they are way overpriced.
Is it cost-effective to invest in a 3D printer?

Nice job by the way.

Its a great tool for the person you wants to rapid prototype concepts. This material is production strength and quality. THe machine costs $2000. A spool of the filament is $48 and goes a long way.
