it still sounded funny as heck.

My friend told me that he let his buddy from work hunt on his property this last weekend. Its about 29 acres that strech along a Dairy and a Highway. Well the story goes that in the last minutes of legal shooting his buddy shot a small 6 pointer that and he tried to watch where it ran to. But because the light was poor he lost sight as it started toward the Highway.
Well can you guess what the buddy heard next? Yup, the screech of tires and a thump. The Deer made it to the Highway and a Ford Escort hit it. Well the buddy just sat there in the woods watching the poor young man walk back and forth cursing. After a while the guy started to walk back the way he came, maybe heading back home to call a tow truck. The buddy went and got his truck and raced to the Highway and picked up his Deer and started down the road where he passed the unfortunate guy walking.

In front of my neighbors house someone hit a deer. While he is looking at the damage to his car a station wagon pulls up and without a word they quickly grab the deer and take off. I laughed when the first driver tried explaining to the cop.

I dont' think the meat would be ruined by the guts, but I wonder about bloodshot meat from the blunt trauma.

I got another 3rd person tale for ya.
One of my co-workers was bow hunting this past october with a friend of his. He got a shot off at a 5pt that ran off twards the road. He followed the blood trail to a large blood spot on the shoulder of the road but no deer. His friend said he had seen a guy in a red sweatshirt and a gray truck with a deer just past the area the deer went down. They figured someone probably hit it and picked it up.
That afternoon while leaving they spotted the gray truck and the guy in the red shirt in the driveway of a residence. They figured there would be no harm in asking so they pulled in. They asked the guy about the deer he had and he said he picks 'em up all the time. Either road kill or lost kills. Because there was no tag on the deer the guy told my co-worker he was welcome to have it back. It was completely dressed out and hanging. :p
No mess. No fuss.
some people have all the luck.:D
