Hello THR community,
Does anyone have or can share a link to load data on Lehigh defense' 100gr Xtreme defense for .40 . This will be shot out of a p250c . I searched Lehigh and I found nothing on that particular projectile, thanks in advance

If you have velocity of Lehigh ammunition, you can try to match the velocity with published load data.

You can also reference load data for slightly heavier bullet like 125 gr for load development with 100 gr bullet.

Since powder used will likely be different, felt recoil and accuracy may not be the same.

This Lehigh link to their resource page has load data for 115 gr bullet to produce over 1300 fps out of 4.5" barrel - https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0...115gr_Xtreme_Defense.pdf?14367928570247969086

WARNING - Before loading near max/max loads, keep in mind they used new Starline brass. If you are using mixed range brass with unknown reload history and condition of brass, I recommend you consider staying way below max charges, especially if you see overly expanded brass likely fired in loose chambers which could have thinned brass.

I use verified once-fired brass for max 40 S&W loads and use mid-to-high range load data with mixed 40S&W brass.

Thanks bds, unfortunately at the cost of these projectiles I can't afford developing a load that has been reduced from. There 115 data . I will probably end up getting the 115 as they stated that there was negligible difference in the wound channel between the two, though it still would be nice to have some load data to experiment with at a later date

Well, the 115 Gr data will be safe with the 100 Gr bullets, so it's not like they will be wasted.

I don't want to hijack the thread with light vs heavy 40S&W bullet performance but I used to be fan of lighter 135/155 gr JHP for 40S&W defensive ammunition but now prefer 165/180 gr JHP ammunition based on various gel/penetration performance testing done.

I like bulk Speer Gold Dot HP and Remington Golden Saber JHP projectiles to reload "duplicate" practice rounds as I use same factory ammunition for SD/HD.

As to cheaper practice, I use lead, coated lead, and plated bullets with powders/charges that produce comparable felt recoil and point-of-impact.

Well the reason I was asking is I met two nice gentleman around my age at the range today and I said if you want I can cast some bullets for you and he can make ballistic gel for me to "increases the science maths" on my load data and he wanted to have me load up these 100gr projectiles but thankfully we went with 115gr and I think he might buy 50 for my 10mm so the test between the two will insue (joking the short and wimpy will FTF in the presence of the mighty 10mm and the FBI will have a burning ear!)

Good call on adding the disclaimer bds I have used heavier projectile data for lighter loads and suggest taking caution to anyone doing that , thankfully since we are using the 115' I have published data to start from, the issue now is working UP a defensive load with such costly ammo and when that load is found being able to shoot enough to ensure reliability so keep an eye in the future for what happens. It's nice to be able to pool resources from fellow shooters like me having a chrony and new friend has gel so hopefully I can provide THR with proper data done in a professional manner

So as you near the max load data, are you going to use new brass or range brass?

I really would suggest using verified once-fired brass for high+ load data test rounds.

I have a ton of once fired 40 I've selected that I know has gone from box to gun to my tumbler :)
