Hey Guys,
I have heard that for range purposes that you can take a .40 glock mag, close the feed lips a little, and then load 9MM into them. Has anyone done this with the Glock 19? Just wondering as we have a gun show comming up this weekend and I would like to try it. Also which .40 cal mag will fit into the 19 flush with the bottom? Any idea of the number of rounds?

IMHO, its not worth the effort and potential problem.

Just buy the proper mags, they're only like $20 or so. I think there are some places online that sell NIB Glock factory mags for about $16.

I was under the impression that the .40 standard capacity mags would hold more then 10 rounds of 9mm. That was why I was interested in it. I assume you were talking about buying 10rd mags for $16. If those are Hi-Cap then let me know where and I will buy a couple. :D

I kind of like the 10 round mags for the range, since it doesn't leave any odd rounds at the end. If it's not for range use, I'd be skeptical of the reliability.

I do this with my CZ 75 P-01. 14 rounds of 9mm in a 10 round .40 mag. Perfectly reliable(not stopages at all in 1000 rounds). They are actually my carry mags.

Clipse;

what you are doing may be illegal. Check your local laws, especially since you are carrying those illegally modified mags.

They are not modified though. I have a letter from the ATF that states that as long as they still work in the gun they were intended for then it is perfectly legal. There are not Missouri laws dealing with this either. I have done research before I started carrying these. Thanks for the concern though.
