Alright, so I got this "new" cartridge to play with in the 1911... was cheaper than the 460 Rowland (which would have been fun too...) but settled on a Swenson barrel for I think $56 on Midway and a 24# Wolff spring... I know people don't like the barrel, I'm satisfied, that's not in question atm.

Anyhow, I've noticed data is few and far between on this round. Anybody have some loads they would like to share? So far I've got 180 Grains going about 1300 fps, 135 grains at 1550 fps. Brass is necked Federal SP. Not at max yet, but good enough for now. If you share yours, I'll share mine...

A clip draw, on that hog??:D I toyed with the 400 corbon idea, but decided not to. Hows the accuracy?

The accuracy? I havent benched it, but hit every clay from 10-25 meters with it. A good improvement over my "perceived" accuracy with 45 out of the same gun.

Back in the 99-2000 time frame I bought an Olympic/Safari Arms 400 Corbon barrel and fitted it to my AMT Harballer.

It turned that gun into a laser beam, accuracy wise.

I always shot factory Corbon ammo out of it. I couldn't find any load data on it back then, not to mention the only way to get brass was to buy factory ammo.... I eventually upgraded my 1911 to a COLT and sold the AMT with both barrels but it was alot of fun to shoot. I remember that the 135 grainers made a pretty sweet fireball at night time.

rkless, have not tried the dusk shots yet...

and thanks Zulu, will have to look that one up. Will make my manuals 6, but can never have too many of those...

wow Zulu, sierra is the last place I go when looking up odd cartridges, it was still collecting dust in the corner.

Fun round. I do not hot rod mine. It's a Firedragon barrel in an old SA 1911.
