My brother bought a 41 MAG DE a while back and recently began taking it out to the range. Problem is, that the rounds he can find (which is a task in itself) are not hot enough, so after each round he does fire, it jams, stovepipes, etc. Besides hand loading, he does not shoot very often, what types of 41 mag should he be buying that are hot enough to let the weapon function normally?

Thank you

Try the 210 grain JHP from Buffalo Bore

or the 170 grain JHP from Dakota Ammo

Both these loads use jacketed bullets, so they are fine for use in the gas-operated Desert Eagle, and they are both full power .41 mag loadings, so they should cycle your brother's Desert Eagle just fine. Of course he should definitely consider handloading as well, which would definitely be the cheapest solution.
