What kind of pressure would you get if you used a 200 grain 38 cal slug in a 410 sabot designed for 3 or 5 pellets of .36 diam buckshot? What kind of velocity could you get out of an encore pistol or a taurus judge in 410?

Here's a link to someone who has developed a special .410 barrel for the Encore, with rather "unique" shells that develop impressive ballistics, while staying within recommended pressures for the .410. Slugs are on the order of 370gr-400gr and are not the typical 80gr .410 slugs.

So, if you really want to get some interesting performance out of an Encore in .410, it can be done.

Taurus Judge? Not so much. :)

A single .36 caliber buckshot weighs 71.5 grains.
So three of them would weigh +/- 214 grains, and five of them would weigh +/- 357 grains.

It seems a 200 grain .38 bullet would get about the same velocity as a 3 pellet .410 load.

But it would be tumbling end over end, quickly run out of steam, and you couldn't hit much with it.
