I agree that revolver addiction grows over time! I shot semi-autos my entire life until I purchased a S&W 686 Plus on a whim. From there is became the S&W trifecta 617, 686, 629, all in ~6" barrel length in stainless. From there it expanded every which direction.

Enjoy!

well... you did not do yourself any favors starting with full house loads in a snubby... albeit .44 mag or even .357 or .41 mags at that... 4 inch is definitely better but 6 inch n longer is even better.I got into .44 mag at 21 many moon ago with a 5.5 inch Redhawk -love that and other .44's have followed. I used t shoot a lot of `18 gr of 2400 240gr and midrange loads... I need a .44 mag snubby one day :p just never found the right deal. I have mostly double action 44 mags but have picked up a 4 5/8 and a 5.5 in the last few years right before the real madness started and need to spend some time with em. I am really thinking of wanting to do a Bisley conversion on one or both of em... not short of projects here :p

Oh no doubt. I knew I was in for it as soon as I saw him pull out the 3" 629. Admittedly, I probably will not be looking to buy a short barreled .44 magnum anytime soon. I definitely think a 6" or so barrel is the sweet spot for me and what I want to do with it.

This is an S&W Nightguard. It's pretty brutal with full house 44mag loads! Fortunately I reload. Not my photo, but I do have one. 163420_01_lg.jpg

Ignore people trying to talk you in to what they SETTLED for.

If you like and love 41 mag, then get a 41 mag.

If you like and love a 44 mag, then GET a 44 mag.

Truth be told, I wouldn't mind both. But I'm getting a .44 Magnum first. I've very much enjoyed the discussion here on this thread so thank you all.
