I would like to know how the accuracy of the Sig P-220 compares to the CZ-97B. I am 99% certain I am going to get a P-220 soon. But, I would like to know how the accuarcy compares.

From my samples, CZ 97 wins hands-down. I've gotten sub-1" groups with my CZ-97 at my best. At my best with my Sig P220 ST, I've gotten slightly below 2" groups. Both pistols are more accurate than needed for defense, but IMO the CZ 97 has a significant accuracy advantage with most loads.

Having said this, I prefer the Sig for 3 reasons:

1. Superior interior workmanship (in my samples)
2. Superior reliability (in my samples)
3. Better ergonomics, IMO. The CZ has great ergonomics, but it is on the large size.

Both are more accurate than I am. That said it comes down to ergonomics. The CZ97 is just too big in my hands.

I can't compare the P220 to a CZ97B because I've never fired a CZ. What I can say is that my new P220R is the most accurate pistol that I own. At least it's the pistol that I shoot most accurately. (see attached photo of 25yd. 10 shot groups and my sight-in target). My older non-rail P220 isn't far behind. I can't imagine not owning a Sig P220.

As mentioned, there is a slight edge for CZ accuracy.

Owning both pistols, they were equal in reliability.

SIG is smaller and lighter to carry. Grips is not as large.
The 97B is hella accurate and smooth shooting.
Workmanship is top-notch. The inside doesn't matter to me.

I'll have to admit that the large framed Witness is the limit for me as for
an autoloader. Bigger than a CZ75, but smaller than a 97B.

never shot a sig 45 but I have to say the cz is very accurate and very reliable with ball ammo. The one sample I shot was finiky with hollow points. Could not make it though a full mag. the grip is a bit big for me but doable and recoil was a kitten.

There are a number of reasons sigs don't float my boat. I should try a 220 but none of the others do anything for me. I don't even like the 210 regardless of price.

Unless you have sasquatch hands, I don't think the 97 will fit you. I've never shot a 97 but I will say that if any other factory gun is more accurate than my 220 I'd be really REALLY surprised. Its been 100 percent reliable and is my "if I gotta grab just one as I run out the door" gun.
