Do you have a 1911? If so, I would suggest a mech tech upper....and well under a grand.

Look up CX4 Storm. I have one in 40S&W to go with my 90-Two which they can share magazines between them. I even got some pro mag 20 round magazines for it.

I know of more than a couple guys that have turned their favorite 1911 into a deer slayer... not that I recommend it.. but it is an option...

EXACTLY !!! I have two Mech-Tech unit , one in 10mm and one in .45acp --- they both feed ANY bullet style includeing wadcutters --- I have had them on multiple 1911 frames and a few Hi-Cap Para-Ordnance frames as well. The 10mm M.T. has a red dot on it and the .45 has the optional factory rail/iron sights. I've used them in Action 3 Gun matches and have got hits on 12" steel plates at 100 yards+ ---- I bought mine for a little over $300 or $350 about 7 years ago. Both units have fired THOUSANDS of my reloads and show no real signs of wear.

I've been jonesing for an HK USC for years, though there's no way on God's green Earth I would pay for the premiums they demand. However, if I were offered a .45acp carbine, this might be the one I choose. The USC would likely be found closer to your $1500 limit.

I like the CX4 as well. I almost picked one up when they first came out. They were about $600 new then. Now, I haven't seen a single one new for less than $800. For that kind of money they're competing with some ARs and they don't have near the versatility than an AR has. I've given up on the CX4 until they get back down to around $600 again.

Personally I have the Marlin Camp Carbine in 45ACP and the Thompson.

The Marlin in 45ACP is a little hard to find and the Thompson is heavy.

A friend has the Storm in 9mm.
I was going to get one in 45 but never got around to it.

Hi-Point has been saying they were going to come out with a 45 Carbine for years but have yet to do so............always "next" year.

Yeah I like the BAZ AR/M4 platform is my favorite carbine style, or you can be the man everyone is jealous of and get the KRISS Super V 45ACP Carbine. Maybe cost you a $100 or so more and you gotta really look around, but the minimal recoil factor plus the "only guy you know who has one factor" well it's an option.

I had a .45ACP Cx4 storm. Almost sad I sold that one, but I know it went to a good home. It was fun to play with, wish it had had a 15 to 20 round magazine though.

What the heck there is a ar-15 in 45 acp to? Ummm I seen a uzi 45 rifle once. For a cheap one a marlin camp 45 acp carbine would be the way to go. I prefer 9mms in carbines. This is out of your price range but have you seen a kriss super v in 45acp yet?
