.45 or 10mm for self defense

I carry a 10mm (Witness compact), but I certainly wouldn't feel undergunned with a .45. Both are very capable cartridges; the 10mm offers increased power and higher magazine capacity, at the price of a limited and usually expensive selection of firearms and ammunition.

I carried a PT145 MP a great deal last summer when the weather was too warm for the clothing necessary to conceal the Witness. I loved that little gun and would still have it, were it not for a very beneficial straight-across trade (220v 7.5 HP 80 gallon compressor).
