I have got a lot of help prior on our our G. S. forum/thanks fellas! as I reload and had replaced parts) b.bushing wolf spring kit etc.. looking for a barell that's a good one for an e z r feed for this oldie! Any input would be cool! Midway is were I would like to find one but?

I got a very good Barstow SS barrel for my Series 70 some 35 years ago. Many tens of thousands shots fired and it's great. It does need to be fitted though. Not a big deal at all. It's my carry and accurate as heck.

Thanks fellas computer been out. was looking to get one on the cheep. midway has the drop in but its never in stock was wondering if any has every used one from them or a good cheapie w/a feed ramp like they advertise? ezeir feed chambering.

If all you want is easier feeding have your barrel throated and polished, and the ejection port enlarged.
I have 0 malfunctions. It eats anything.

I was able to get a NOS Vietnam era GI barrel at a gun show a few years back to replace the shot out barrel in my Argentine Sistema. It dropped right in with no problems. The accuracy was ok, but not fantastic. Then I replaced the barrel bushing, that required a little work with a file and sandpaper, (on the bushing, not the slide) After that, it now puts 'em where I point 'em. I think i paid something like $85 for the barrel, easily the best value upgrage I've put into that pistol

I did what 25/5 mentioned w/my series70 but not going to have the ejection port worked with. was just wondering about a barrel that was economical/cheaper?

The information provided so far is excellent.

I'd recommend getting some 1911 books as well to read and learn some of the processes and needs of the 1911.

Working on a 1911 is not difficult to get reliable, basic functioning, but you do need to know what is required. Having a reference book or two is helpful. The one by Jerry Kuhnhausen is excellent but I have a couple others that are also excellent but I'm not near my reloading room at the present time.

I have built a couple 1911's from the frame up that work well with 230 RN ammunition which is as far as I needed to go. Also, I've fitted a couple 38/45 Clerke barrels to particular 1911's. They all have been a very rewarding experiences. The books provided valuable information.
