In recent years many of the upper Midwest states have approved straight wall cartridges for deer hunting. Thank goodness they have finally come their senses and given hunters more options than shotgun slugs and black powder. Anyone hunting these states has undoubtedly dealt with expensive punishing slugs (sometimes inconsistent groupings) or single shot capability with the black powder rifles.
Sons and I have entered into the new era with eager anticipation. 450 Bushmaster seems to offer repeatable accuracy, multiple rounds if needed, and convenience of a more modern platform. Built three units, (2)16" and a 18" barreled version all with 1-24" twist.
Trips to the range have been impressive, accuracy out to 200 yards is outstanding. 300 yard groupings were nothing to sneeze at. Let you know how things went when the season starts in a couple of weeks.
