I was looking at AR50s on GB and.saw they were $4500-5k. When did they go that high and does amyone know.where you can still get them for $2500?

Don't look on GB, check the major gun board's like here, arfcom, Calguns, The Firing Line, Biggerhammer...

I still see them for $2,500 or so, check Calguns.net, I think there was one on there a week or so ago.

1/2 of the Gunbroker bidders don't have a clue of what something is actually worth and the shipping is almost always inflated. It's very hard to get a decent deal on Gunbroker. By the time you calculate in the shipping and transfer fee you can easily over pay.

Buying online is always worse than buying from a store. With that said, when you are looking for a gun, you need to use the same method shopping online as you do from stores. Unlike most people, when I see a gun whether online or in a store and I want it's I buy it. A good price is what you are willing to pay!

For me, I buy most of my guns on GB, and it is never about the price. They simply have a massive inventory to choose from, and I am able to find some really über specific stuff there that I am willing to pay for. Example: I wanted an early 1970's 2 3/4" 1100 with flawless walnut and high luster original blue. Found one still in the original box, absolutely mint, unfired. I could have purchased a recent 1187 for much less money, but that's not what I wanted.

I have several other examples, including a 1973 336 just as the 1100 mentioned above. Paid easily 1/3rd more than a current model would cost, but the walnut, the wood to metal fit
and blue are perfect, and it SHOOTS. I like the way they USED to make guns, and I need GB to find them. It costs what it costs.
