I'll spare you a rehash of the history of this exercise. Take a look here if you're really interested:

Update

Today I shot same 50 Winchester cases as last time out (Feb 19) and recovered all. And in record time I have decapped, sized, wet & dry tumbled, and measured. Whew!

The below picture is of the same case that was the key takeaway last time. It is now just .8845" down .001" from last shooting. Just looking at picture now--you'll have to trust me that's a case being measured.

One other is now just .886". Five others are still .890" while the rest are now between .887" and .889". Why those few aren't shrinking as fast I don't know.

To remind, last May all these cases were at least .894" with some up to .899" (remember that one?).

This shrinkage is after 18-20 shootings in this test and who knows how many before it began (they were not new).

The headstamps are getting slightly beat up but not that bad really. I've seen far worse and I'm confident you all have too.

Other than headstamps, there appear to be a few more nicks here and there, but no other real damage is visible.

I haven't gauged the primer pockets but will do so as I prime these in next few days.

Edit: I have now gauged all primer pockets and they are fine.

As always
Enjoy

It's a hazard of age. Everything gets shorter. I'm at the point where my range pickup recycles are on the "who cares" list if they get lost. Of a few thousand unknown pedigree of these I've had maybe a dozen split when I've fired them. My IMI Match 45's are on their 3rd go-round (only bought 2K @ $90/K - darn), but have not seen in random samples any length issues. Have a handful of unfired - I'll measure against the 3X fired and report in.
