I came across a bazillion 454 round ball...balls that are cast with near ww bhn and the seller didnt like the hard push to seat in his BP revolvers.

Anyhow... I assume these have been run in 45acp before.. They seem to be all .138gr.

Anyone run these for plinking around in a 1911 or even a 45c? Would they even feed in the auto? Any starting data you can share or point me to?

I guess I can melt them all down if need be for ingot stock. Thought I'd play around a bit before that. TIA.

A plain cast round ball has been used in pistol and revolvers chambered for the .45 ACP (and most other .45 caliber arms) since - quite a long time.

Normally, they are shot from revolvers or single loaded in semi-autos as no great drive has been felt to load them up to function the action. They're plinking rounds. Usually loaded with something fast like Bullseye or the like. Trail Boss would probably work.

How are you going to keep them from setbacks. The round ball has nothing to grip the case necks and an acp does not use a roll crimp. Anything can be made to work, but if you cast just make them into good bullets

You're talking about a gallery load - like used for basement ranges, carnivals, things like that. Accurate at short ranges - a dozen paces or so. Loading data can be found in the old Speer #11: 3.5gr. Bullseye. Flare the case mouth enough for the ball to fall in to the circumferential apex, drop in the ball, sprew down, and taper crimp like you would normally. The newer manuals do not list gallery data for some reason.
