.45ACP with .452 Jacketed HP Bullets?

Found a deal on some Hornaday 240gr XTP jacketed hollow points in .452 diameter. I have always loaded .451 diameter jacketed bullets in the .45acp and .452 diameter cast bullets. Will loading these bullets cause increased pressures or possible problems? Does anyone have load data for this bullet in the .45acp? Will they cycle and feed well in a 1911a1? For the price on 500 of them I couldn't resist. (less than $50)

I won’t swear to it but they may be for .45 Long Colt Revolver.

.45LC should be .454 diameter......I think.

I've seen .452 jacketed listed for .45LC in the Speer catalog before, IIRC. (Yeah, I'll admit I was looking into some "super-heavyweight" ACP loads for a while... still considering 'em, but I'm thinking to work 'em up in the hotter .450SMC instead.)

Those may be intended for the .45 Colt, which currently uses .452" diameter bullets. The very early .45 Colts did use a .454" diameter bullet, but since about WW II, the .452" diameter has been standard.

If they are 240 grain & .452", there is no doubt that they are .45 cal. revolver bullets.

But worse, if they are XTP's they are the #45220 bullet for .45 Magnum class revolvers & T/C single-shot pistols.

They will not expand at .45 ACP velocity.
