You can't figure that out on your own?

Hint, at the beginning of the vid [ in the first 20 seconds of the vid ] it's mentioned going for group/slow fire. That MIGHT be ones first clue, of course :)

Those were groups? Complete with 3 misses? Um, ok...

There's slow and then there's sloooooooow. Was this your first time trying this?

I can see David E's confusion with the repeated use of the word "Quick," LOL.

Sure enough, you didn't use sights, but you certainly sighted down the body of the slide. So you were still sighting with the gun, just not with traditional sights. It is something nifty to do, and like with using regular sights, isn't hard to become proficient, but it is different to do, unless you are older and have tried shooting an original 1911 with original sights that you can't see anyway, LOL. Then it is about the same thing.

Exactly. Brownie, or "Mr. Point Shooter," was sighting the gun, albeit without conventional sights. What's that prove, exactly?

Even shooting slow, he missed three times at 10 yds, something an accomplished shooter wouldn't do. But if this was his first attempt as it appears to be, then it's not too bad.

I look forward to his next video.

The Old Fuff learned a long time ago that it is best to first perfect a technique, and then (and only then) work to speed up. Going for fastest time in the first place is a great way to end up with neither great speed nor accuracy.

I have known a number of shooters that could do what was shown in the video, but much faster. But the reason was they were brought up on pistols that were equiped with the old GI sights that were next to impossible see, especially in bad or extra bright light. Decent sights are a relatively new development in the overall picture.
