With HD and CCW covered with other weapons my must have 9mm pistols list for just range fun would all be high end target pistols. Here goes:

1. SIG P210 Super Target
2. SIG Sauer P226 X-Five
3. S&W 952
4. CZ 75 Tactical Sport
5. Tanfoglio Elite Limited

well I have a P95 I would like to replace with a G19 or a CZ.
I really like my Kahr CW9
M&P but I got a 40 because 9 mm is harder to find now.
thats all I need in 9s

At one time, I had been a VERY avid shooter and gun owner for years and owned quite a few guns. However, I didn't, and never had owned a single handgun chambered for the 9mm Luger cartridge. I was a hard core 1911 guy. But there is one issue that you have to face: some of the coolest handguns ever made, are 9mms.
I eventually bought a 9mm, and then another, and another..................

The ones I would pick are the same ones that many others in this thread have already picked.

In order:
Glock 17: not a good looking gun, but IMO the best all around 9mm. I view this gun as a tool. I am not "into" it. It is my everyday carry gun and for that reason, every time I go to the range (at least once per week), I fire one magazine from one of my Glock 17s at a fairly rapid pace concentrating on concentrating on the front sight, rapid sight picture, and smooth consistent trigger control. I don't particularly enjoy doing this. I do it first to get it over with and then move onto guns I really enjoy owning and shooting. If I could only own one handgun, this would probably be it. If I could only own one 9mm handgun, this would definitely be it.

Browning Hi-Power: elegant. Enough said.

Beretta 92: I enjoy shooting this gun, but I bought it primarily just because I thought that a decent American gun collection should contain an example of the currently issued US Military sidearm. It is one of a few double action pistols I own which gives me something else to play with at the range.

CZ 75: I don't own a CZ 75 and probably never will. But it looks to me to be a very nice looking gun and from all accounts I have read; is one of the best.

I guess for number five I might pick a Sig. I don't own a Sig. I once owned a .45 ACP Sig and it was a fine handgun. Again, I will probably never buy another Sig, but it isn't because they arn't great handguns. Its just because I already have more guns than I can shoot as much as I would like and I don't need another one.

I suppose one of the historical guns would be appropriate. I own a couple Lugers, a couple P38s but they don't really do much for me. The fit into the catagory of some something I always wanted, then after I got them and played with them, the novelty quickly wore off. Compared to other 9mms, the single stack magazines are a serious limitation. I have a Walther P1 that is a good shooter and is cool to look at but I doubt I would go out looking for another one. My Lugers are not real nice examples: they are servicable but compared to the other 9mms I already listed, it is near the rear of the pack.

Ones I have:
Luger 1917 Artillery
Walther P38
Mauser 1896 (technically doesn't qualify due to 7.65 caliber)
Ruger Blackhawk 9mm/.357 convertible
KelTec PF 9
S&W 39
Browning Hi-Power

With the "tools" taken care of, focusing on a collection, I'd have to pick guns that were significant advancements in gun technology pertaining to the cartridge.

1) P-08 Luger (started it all)

2) Browning Hi-Power (1st successful double stack)

3) S&W Model 59, or 3rd Gen variant of it. (1st "Wondernine")

4) Glock 17 (totally changed what handguns are)

5) Kahr PM-9 (a 9mm smaller than many .380's)

5 1/2) Beretta 92 (current military handgun)

.

So they have to be 9mm

Browning High Power
HK P7
Colt Commander 9mm
Browning High Power
Browning High Power

I think that covers it.
Oh one last one
Browning High Power

:neener:

1) CZ 75 pre B, B, BD full sized or compact, or clone
2) S&W 39-2 (or the 4/5/639 which is essentially the same gun with the option for an ambi safety and more modern sights --- and a different sear and a firing pin block...but other than that, same gun.)
3) Glock 17 - any gen, but my personal preference is gen 3
4) Sig P225
5) can't think of a fifth...I'll come back later for this one.

Of the five 9mm pistols allotted, I have made four choices: Beretta 92, SIG 226, S&W 6906 and CZ 85. I am missing a Browning Hi-Power to complete the five pistol limit ensemble.

sig P226, CZ 75, 92fs, Browning, Glock 19.
I know there are some other collectible items but these 5 would complete a collection of just 5

I have:
Glock 26 Gen4
Beretta M9

I want:
Glock 17 Gen4
Sig M11 A1
Sig P226

I could consider my 9mm collection complete with those 5

I've had a bunch of 9mms. Only 9mm I currently own is the Kahr PM9. It is a keeper.

If I had a bunch of money, I might add:

--HK P7M13 (had one, but sold it).
--Springfield EMP (had two; second was a factory replacement for the first. So many problems with each that I couldn't list them all. Finally gave up in frustration. I'm sure they are much better these days.)
--Maybe a Rohrbaugh or, more likely, a Kimber Solo.

1) Browning Hi-Power
2) CZ 75 Family
3) S&W 59 Family

(I haven't owned the next two, but they are interesting)
4) FNS
5) Glock

With tools out of the way, to me it would be the classic service weapons.

Honorable mentions for cool 9x19s I'd like to own "just because" would include the sig p210, and HK P7.

Well, it would be more than five, but if I had to make the cut at 5..

S&W 5906
S&W 6906
Beretta 92FS older style
CZ75 full sized
CZ P01

If I didn't cut them off...

HK P7 variant of some kind.
Any and all CZ75 clones.
Astra A-75 (I've had three, all were great guns!)
